Face to Face
Two weeks waiting for Disney feels like a lifetime! 1st November I was
in the library with a couple of people from my group and instead of
doing work I was on Facebook, my sister asked me to enter a question on
This Morning that could win us a trip to Disney World. After registering
I went on my email to authorise it and found an email from Yummy Jobs, I
opened it thinking it would just be some information, but OMG it was an
email explaining I had been accepted to the next stage, face to face. I
jumped and screamed with shock and happiness, then realised I was in
the library, had a few strange glances especially off my friends, so I
felt I had to explain to them. The email explained that I would need to
go up to Chester on 11th November (11.11.11). I got straight on to
making arrangments, I needed time off Uni to go and needed to book
trains and a hotel. Hannah and I had planned to go and see Disney on Ice
the night before my interview, so arranged to go straight from
Sheffield.
The morning of my interview I woke up feeling horribly sick and wishing someone was with me to support me, I was so nervous.

The long awaited email....
I felt like there had been many signs pointing to that possibility that I
may slightly have the chance of going to Florida. My interview date was
on 11.11.11, it was to take place in Chester which is my dogs name and
when I was walking home from Uni, I saw Nick who works at Yummy Jobs a
day or two before I received my email. I didn't want to jinx anything
though so I tried to ignore them...
I was a nightmare to be friends/family with over the few weeks between my face to face interview and receiving the email. As I felt that my face to face had gone really bad I was sure that I wouldn't be going to Disney. But on the 29th November, Sarah, who I had met at the interview text me asking if I had received an email. I hastily opened my emails to find one from Yummy Jobs with just the subject Disney Summer Work Experience. This was it the moment I had been waiting for for ages, I was so scared to open the email and scroll down to find out the answer. I plucked up the courage and YES I did it!!!!!
After reviewing your application and interview we are delighted to be the first to say
You have been offered a place on Disney’s Summer Work Experience for 2012.
Your role in the show will be in Operations.
Your Summer Work Experience with Disney will commence on 10th June 2012 and conclude on 31st August 2012.
The whole of Leeds must have heard me screaming, I literally ran around my house and was bouncing on the sofas, I rang my family and best friends and burst in to tears. Finally after all this time (3 months after applying, it's a long time!) I knew I had succeeded and I would be heading out to Florida for the Summer. Although my dream had come true I the began to have doubts. Was this the right thing for me to be doing? Would it ruin the magic and all the memories I have of Disney. This went on for a while, meaning my family had to put up with me for even longer, I do apoligise!! I came to my senses and snapped out of it and was able to enjoy the moment.

Let's take it back.
I've been meaning to write a post for ages. I created this blog months
ago but can never find the time to write. I have no clue how I'm going
to find time in Florida if I struggle at home, but I think some of it
may be down to lazyness.
Back in August I applied through Yummy Jobs to work out Walt Disney World Florida. I hadn't done any research into what I would be doing if I was accepted, but due to my love for Disney I gambled and took the risk, also applications closed that night so it was either now or never (possibly next year). After applying I had a look on the site and found the different job roles you could apply for. After clicking apply it was a long wait until 28th September, when I received an email explaining I had been invited to complete a phone interview. I opened the email whilst at Uni and was so excited I had a little jump around and called my mum straight away. I decided to wait until I was back at home in Jersey to have my interview as I did not want to tell anyone except my family and best friends, just in case I did not get in. The day of the interview (nearly a month after receiving the email) finally arrived. I had tried to prepare for it by reading blogs and watching videos on YouTube which I really found helped. I had everything prepared on the table and was just waiting for the phone to ring. I felt sick, so so nervous, it was horrible!! All of my family were either at work or school so there was no-one to talk to in the house. I resorted in putting on Disney Parade music and dancing around the lounge to it, resulting in me being slightly out of breath when my phone rang 8 minutes late. Those 8 minutes were horrible, there were many different questions whizzing through my mind, was my phone broken? did they decide they didn't want me? Awful! But when the phone did ring I took a big breath and spoke to the lovely Becky, she was ever so kind and really made me feel relaxed. I was asked why I wanted to take part in the programme, what I would gain, what I would find difficult and what could I bring to the team. My phone call barely lasted 5 minutes, which panicked me when I got off the phone as other people had said there's were a lot longer. Becky explained Yummy Jobs would get back to us in the next few weeks so once again the waiting game began...

Disney Liverpool Meet
I met the girls at the train station with a couple of others then we headed of to 'Spoons. We found a good spot and then people kept on flowing in asking "Disney?", we must have looked quite weird to any outsiders as a couple of times we went round the table telling everyone our names and what we would be doing out in Florida. After Weatherspoons we all headed off to a pub, pref with a beer garden, to enjoy the gorgeous weather! We were then accompanied by a couple of live bands playing, it got to the point where we were all shouting over the music so decided to leave. Mini Golf was mentioned as the next activity, but that seemed to be forgotten quite quickly. By the time we decided to move on I had to go catch my train, I said my farewells and tottled off smiling and feeling relieved with how today went and the lovely people I had met.
Was lovely to meet everyone that came and was really good to finally put a name to some of the faces I have been speaking to for a while on Facebook. Was so surreal saying goodbye to people and then saying see you in Florida, I can't wait!
